Find the Correct Paint Code for Your Vehicle

Ordering the correct car paint starts with finding your vehicle's paint code. This code identifies the original factory paint colour and helps us supply the right colour for your vehicle.

Paint codes can be located in different places depending on the vehicle manufacturer, make and model. Follow our simple guide below to help you find yours.

How to Find Your Paint Code

Step 1: Find your vehicle make

Find your vehicle manufacturer in the list below. The numbers next to each make correspond to the numbered locations shown in our paint code location diagram.

Step 2: Check the suggested locations

Use the numbers listed next to your vehicle make to identify the areas you should check on your vehicle. Paint codes are commonly found on manufacturer labels or plates in locations such as:

Under the bonnet
Inside the driver's or passenger's door opening
On a door pillar
Inside the boot
In the glove compartment
Other locations specified by the manufacturer

Step 3: Identify your paint code

Look for a label or plate containing the paint code. It may be listed as Paint, Colour, Paint No. or a similar description, depending on the manufacturer.

Take care not to confuse the paint code with the vehicle's VIN, chassis number or other identification numbers.

If you are unsure which number is the paint code, take a clear photograph of the label and contact our team for assistance.

To find your paint code for your car follow the easy steps below:

1. Find your make of car from the list below ( e.g Land Rover).

2. Take note of numbers that are next your model (e.g 2,4,6,8).

3. Match your numbers to the locations on the car (see picture below).

4. Simply find your colour code from one of the locations your numbers match to (e.g under the bonnet).

5. Place your order on our online shop or via telephone order Tel 023 9262 1800

6. All orders placed before 2pm will be dispatched on a next working day delivery.

Alternatively if you are still not able to identify your colour code you can contact a main dealer with your registration number.

Can't Find Your Paint Code?

If your vehicle is an older model, the paint code is missing, or your vehicle has a custom colour, our colour matching service can help.

We can match a colour from a suitable physical sample, such as a wing mirror cover or fuel filler flap.

How Our Colour Matching Service Works

Provide a sample

We need a suitable physical sample of the colour you want matched, such as a wing mirror cover or fuel filler flap.

Get your sample to us

You can post your sample to us or drop it off at our Portsmouth premises.

Allow 24 hours

Please allow 24 hours for the colour matching process before collection or dispatch.

Collect or receive your paint

Your sample can be collected or returned using our next working day courier service, subject to availability.

Colour Matching Charges & Minimum Order

Colour matching charge: £5.00 + VAT.
Minimum order: 2 × AMC aerosols or 500ml of mixed paint.
Free colour matching: The £5.00 + VAT matching charge is waived when ordering 1 litre or more of paint.
